London Borough of Tower Hamlets
Idea Store Learning serves as the Adult Learning Service for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Council. It delivers courses across five Idea Stores, a main Learning Centre, and 15 outreach venues. Most learners are Tower Hamlets residents aged 19 and over, many of whom live in areas identified as economically disadvantaged.
Provision focuses primarily on ESOL, English and Mathematics from entry level to Level 2, a broad programme of community learning supports mental health and wellbeing, offering subjects such as creative and performing arts, languages and health & fitness, the service also maintains a strong partnership with the WorkPath Employability Team and runs an extensive enrichment programme, including initiatives such as Green Week, Employability Week, and various creative and performance showcases.
Idea Store Learning is inspected by Ofsted, currently holding a good rating, and is monitored for funding compliance by the Greater London Authority (GLA). All funding is dependent on meeting agreed targets and contractual requirements.
