London Borough of Wandsworth

Wandsworth Council’s Lifelong Learning service (WCLL) is part of Wandsworth Council’s Education Division in the Children’s Services Department. This includes provision for young people and adults.

WCLL’s main functions are to deliver:

  • An extensive programme of part-time accredited and non-accredited courses through the Adult Skills Fund (ASF). This includes direct and subcontracted delivery, face-to-face, on-line and blended learning. Courses are aligned to local and regional London priorities, including: – English, maths, Digital, ESOL, preparation for employment, personal development for work and identified vocational areas: – Health & Social Care, Hospitality, Green, Construction, Sport. Free Courses for Jobs allocation (FCFJ) offers fully funded Level 3 qualifications to eligible adults.
  • Apprenticeships for young people and adults.
  • Work experience and preparation for employment.
  • Youth Programmes including the Trailblazer Full Potential and UKSPF Jumpstart to Success. Working collaboratively with partners to reduce the numbers of young people who are NEET.


There is a good level of participation in all programmes from learners of all ages. WCLL continues to increase its focus on those who are most disadvantaged to improve their access to learning and employment.
